The first liquid natural gas plant built in Australia in 30 years has just completed construction in Western Australia and Batterham's Electrical Switchboard Services & Trading Pty Ltd (B.E.S.S. & Trading Pty Ltd), a Brisbane Industrial Electrical Drafting company, has had a key role in its' completion.

David Batterham's company is one of the new breed of companies providing electrical engineering services to the oil and gas industry, utilities sector, industrial, mining and large commercial projects sector.

"We have just finished a 12 month project on the LNG plant. It was a specialist project and involved a multi-disciplined team of designers and drafters working together" said David. "LNG is the way of the future and we expect a number of LNG plants will be planned and built in the coming years".

When people look at large commercial constructions they are not aware of the detail that goes into the design and construction of the building. Generally, designs created during the electrical engineering drafting phase are amended during construction and commissioning as site issues come into play. This means the drawings need to be revised to reflect what finally was built for future records. B.E.S.S. & T specialises in industrial “As Built” electrical drafting.

"We have also just kicked off the design phase for a section of the power plant requirements for the new power station near Miles which will run on coal seam methane gas. We are currently doing the detailed design for the black start generator as part of our electrical engineering drafting services."

B.E.S.S. & T was also involved in powering up the iconic Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, designing modifications to sections of the existing plant and then creating a detailed energisation plan to switch on the new building.
