The history of mahjong's origin is not exactly known and different sources interpret it their own ways. According to one source of information, mahjong was contrived by ancient philosopher Confucius but according to the legends, mahjong was already played in Noah's Ark during the Flood. Neither this version no another one is not proved but for sure is known that mahjong in the view known to us now, was appeared about 19th century.

There are two types of mahjong game: a table game where 4 players take part, and mahjong solitaire which became more popular owing to computer game.

The rules of the mahjong solitaire are quite simple. There is defined number of backs with pictures which should be laid out in the form of pyramid. The main point of the game consists in two equal tiles with pictures being taken away in turn, the whole pyramid would be played out completely to the end. Only open elements can be deleted that is meant those ones, which are not barred with the backs at least on one side.

You can play out the game for hours and the variants are never repeated. You should select the level of complexity which depends how the backs are presented at the beginning of the game. The more open tiles, the easier the playing is.

Now mahjong solitaire can be installed as a game at your computer. You just need download mahjong and the game will be always available to you. The loading file takes very little space and will not influence your traffic too much and the installation process itself is easy and can be managed by any PC user. This is a comfortable game allowing to repeat the same playing in the case of failure.

If the variant with file downloading is not suitable for you, play mahjong online. You will select the game and it will be loaded in the browser. This is the game without installation, a nice way to while away your free time.
